Contrasting Christ
With Those He Came To Save
He was humbled when he became flesh and dwelt among us
that we might be exalted in heavenly places.
He was made an outcast in death that we might be
welcomed into everlasting life.
He was hated by the world that we might be loved
by our Father which art in heaven.
He was rejected of men that we might be accepted
into His glorious eternal kingdom.
He was mocked that we might be comforted during
our times of brokenheartedness.
He was spat upon by his tormentors that we might be
wiped clean of all our sins.
He was judged by both men and God that we - the
guilty - might be pardoned.
He was wrongly condemned that we might be set free
from death and hell.
He was made a scapegoat that we might escape
judgment and damnation.
He was led like a sheep to the slaughter that we might
be spared the wages of sin.
He was stripped naked that we might be clothed
in His purest righteousness.
He was severely beaten that we might be healed
of sin and death.
He was crushed in body and spirit that we might be
made whole through the New Birth.
He was abandoned by His Father in heaven that we might
be adopted into the family of God.
He was bled dry on the cross that we might be
filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit.
He was brutally killed that we might live for
ever and ever.
He was entombed that we might rise up with Him
in the resurrection on the Last Day.
He died so that we might be born again!

"Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God." [John 3:3] |
