Negatives Can Be Positives
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
[Romans 8:28]
When something "bad" happens to you, use it as an opportunity to:
-
thank God that something worse did not happen to you: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." [1 Thessalonians 5:18]
-
thank God for orchestrating this situation in your life to help you grow in the faith: "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." [James 1:2-3]
-
thank God for watching over you so faithfully throughout your life: "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." [Hebrews 13:5]
-
thank God for equipping you and enabling you to handle the current situation: "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry" [1Timothy 1:12]
-
thank God that He has redeemed you from the worst thing that could ever happen to you: "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." [2 Corinthians 9:15]
-
thank God that He has put His Spirit in you to guide you and comfort you: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth" [John 16:13a]
-
pray for the people involved and for wisdom from God as to how to handle the situation: "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." [James 3:17]
-
lean on the Lord for strength and comfort: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." [Proverbs 3:5]
-
trust God to work out your salvation through difficult situations such as the one you are currently dealing with: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." [Romans 8:28]
