Gays? or Sodomites?

The question of Gay Rights came into focus when Anita Bryant helped to rally the attention of the Dade County Florida voters who repealed the anti-discrimination ordinance by a 2 to 1 margin. What Anita Bryant and the voters are for is just the Bible way for a happy marriage and a happy home with children to bless it. Many are wondering what the Bible has to say about the so-called Gay; as a few churches have ordained homosexuals to the ministry, but we read in God's word God's plan, real happiness.

"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?" (Matt. 19:4,5). "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge" (Heb. 13:4).

We read in the Bible of the sorrowful sin of the so-called Gay, Lev. 20:13:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

It is true we are not living under the law, so the death penalty would not apply. But under grace it still is sin that will keep one out of heaven.

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor. 6:9, 10).

The Bible records how people end up being homosexual:
Romans 1:24-28, 32: "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

The last part of this first chapter of Romans shows us how far, down fallen humanity can go. When the passions who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them are first aroused, the carnal mind tells you that you can just go a little distance along the road of lust and then stop, but such is not the case! Once you start down the road, you will discover no stopping place until you hit bottom. When you start out in the sin business, you find that it serves you; but after you have gotten deeply involved it turns the tables and makes you serve it. There will come a time when you might feel like you would rather not sin, but because you have become its slave, you will obey its voice and do its bidding. The drunk would like to quit his drinking, but he has no will power to do so. Sin has taken over his will and it makes him serve its purposes. When you begin reaping the consequences of sin, you reap a sad harvest.
When homosexuals are referred to as Gay, I don't believe it. Gay is not God's way, the Gay is not nature's way, the Gay is not the happy way. He has sinned against God, against society, against his own body, against his own conscience - even against his own reason.

Many homosexuals want to be accepted as normal, when their own physical make-up denies their argument. If homosexuality becomes a normal pattern of life, the human race is threatened, because homosexuals do reproduce. Therefore, the movement of homosexuality depends on the children of others to continue. And this is why parents should be concerned about what's happening!

Florida governor Reubin Askew said, "I do not want a known homosexual teaching my child."  He said, "I have never viewed the homosexual lifestyle as something that approached a constitutional right."

Senator Marion Menning of Minnesota said, "Homosexuality is not a civil right.  It's a threat to my personal rights, it's a threat to my religious beliefs."

Almost every day we hear of homosexuals coming out of their closets. We would never have thought that so many were practicing this sin until Anita Bryant came out against it. But it does bring out the fact that we are living in the last days and the soon coming of Jesus our Saviour.

Genesis 19:4 "But before they lay down, the men of the city; even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly."

Now the Sodomites were beating at Lot's door, inflamed with demon lust, and finally the Lord smote the men with blindness but they still didn't give up. In their blindness their lust raged on - they wearied themselves to find the door. I'll tell you anyone who is bound by a lust of the flesh, will weary himself trying to find a way to satisfy it.

How long will it be before the Lord destroys America as He did Sodom? Genesis ch. 19.
"This account justifies the character given of this depraved people in Genesis 18:20 and 13:13 as their crime was the deepest disgrace to human nature. It is too bad to be described; in the sacred text it is sufficiently marked; and the iniquity which from these most abominable wretches has been called Sodomy, is punished in our country with death" [Adam Clarke of England commenting on Gen. 19:5]

As you know, our generation is discriminating, mainly, against God. God did nothing wrong, yet they expelled Him from the public schools. He was not truant and went to school with those who loved Him, and He was there to listen to the Bible reading and to hear the prayers of the teachers. He has been expelled for no good reason except that people do not love Him and do not want Him interfering with their sinful practices. Anyone living in sin and not wanting to be saved will naturally refuse to hear the Bible or listen to the voice of God. It irritates them and often angers them. I think it's time the homosexuals and the adulterers and all the rest who have problems with sin, go back to the closet and pray. For there is still hope and deliverance for the so-called Gay.

1 Corinthians 6:11 says, "and such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God," Read 1 Corinthians 6:9 & 10.

What is the way? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6). All sinners need God's mercy, God's cleansing and a change of heart.
