The "Why" Series
Why I Use
Profanity:
-
Because
I am trying to hide the fact that I don't have much
of a vocabulary.
-
Because
I want to fit in with other degenerates like myself.
-
Because
I saw some foul mouthed stooge on a TV cartoon talk
this way and I want to be like him.
-
Because
it makes me think that I am an adult when I am still
a child mentally.
-
Because
my favorite celebrities talk that way and I admire
them.
-
Because
I want attention and this is the only way I know how
to get it.
-
Because
I want to let people know how morally bankrupt I am.
-
Because
I am getting ready for hell and that means I can
talk like I want.
Why I
Drink:
-
Because
it makes me feel good, until I wake up with a
hangover and dried puke all over myself.
-
Because
all my friends drink and I am incapable of choosing
better friends.
-
Because
there's nothing else to do after a long week at work
for someone with my limited imagination and morally
bankrupt set of values.
-
Because
its only other people who drive drunk and kill
innocent people.
-
Because
its only other people who die by suffocating in
their own vomit.
-
Because
I am too selfish to care about how my actions may
affect others.
-
Because
I am too short sighted and ignorant to figure out
that how I live has consequences both now and down
the road.
-
Because
my life is so empty and without real purpose and
drinking helps me forget all that.
-
Because
I am getting ready for hell and that means I can
live like I want and do what I want.
Why I
Smoke:
-
Because
I don't care about damaging my health right now
because I don't feel sick yet.
-
Because
I feel that smoking is a grownup thing to do and I
want to feel like I'm grown up.
-
Because
many of my friends smoke and I need to feel part of
a group even if it means putting myself at the risk
of getting cancer or emphysema.
-
Because
I don't care about the harmful effects of smoke on
others, even if they are my own children.
-
Because
my life is so self-centered that the money I would
save by not smoking would only be wasted on
something else equally selfish.
-
Because
I am unable to admit that it is outrageously stupid
to pay for something that is extremely bad for my
health.
-
Because
I am getting ready for hell and that means I can
treat MY body the way I want.
Why I
Gamble:
-
Because
my life is so shallow that I have nothing worthwhile
to spend money on.
-
Because
a lazy person like me likes the idea of getting
money without having to work for it.
-
Because
I believe that having more money will somehow
improve me and my life.
-
Because
I am so preoccupied with myself and getting more
material possessions for myself.
-
Because
I am a fool who thinks the odds will somehow be in
my favor the next time around.
-
Because
it is a fun thing to do if you are someone like me
who has not learned how to do anything useful or
meaningful in their spare time.
-
Because
I am getting ready for hell and that means I can
spend MY money any way I want.
Why I
Cohabitate:
-
Because
marriage is "just a piece of paper" to me.
-
Because
my idea of commitment is "What's in it for me?".
-
Because
I'm just a selfish "user" who doesn't want to have
to be accountable to another person.
-
Because
I don't really trust or respect the other person
because their values are just as corrupt as mine.
-
Because
everyone else is doing it so that must somehow
justify doing something that used to be looked upon
as shameful years ago.
-
Because
I want to set an example for my kids so that they
will grow up to have an immoral relationship like I
have and be equally proud of it.
-
Because
I am getting ready for hell and that means I can
live like I want and do what I want.
If you think
that the words above are harsh or judgmental, you have
no idea how holy God is, and how mild those words are
compared to many assessments of mankind by God in the
Bible. Here is just one instance of many:
"Behold, the
LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;
neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But
your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will
not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and
your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies,
your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None
calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they
trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief,
and bring forth iniquity. They hatch cockatrice’
eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of
their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out
into a viper. Their webs shall not become
garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their
works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of
violence is in their hands. Their feet run to
evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their
thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and
destruction are in their paths. The way of peace
they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings:
they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth
therein shall not know peace. Therefore is
judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us:
we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness,
but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall
like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we
stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate
places as dead men. We roar all like bears, and
mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there
is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and
our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are
with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them."
[Isaiah 59:1-12]
